maxman142001
So a local has a 2000 S70 t5m for sale...has 112k, no service records. Ran great until a week ago when it developed a loud knocking. Car runs good(no smoke), trans shifts good, no check engine light. I cant figure if its a top or bottom end issue? There were bubbles on the dipstick but the knocking doesnt go away when driving, its always there. Anyone has insight on what it could be? Its dirt cheap and I really want a t5m, but i dont wanna get in over my head if it is a rod or bearing. youtube link to a shitty video
Keaton85
That turbos been replaced and something it up with the wiring on the pos. terminal. as for the noise, it sounds like bottom end but cameras always amplify that! So it could be the top end. What codes does it have?

Keaton85
500-750 and then find a motor. Even 1k if you really like it. I mean it's rare but 98s are good vehicles! 00 is fine to but just dot get wrapped up in the rarity. Although in good shape, heck 1k is not all that bad. Maybe even drive it till the motor blows!! 98t5M
If it's in otherwise good shape, I say buy it, at $1k it's a deal. Anything less is just icing on the cake. If you really decide you don't want it PM me the details please, because I know a couple people who would love to have it.
