550
I liked the KDW2s but the sidewall was WAY to soft for anyone looking to improve handling > traction. I had to run 36 psi up front to prevent pushing and that caused bad wear on them. However, Very good tire, little loud, and wet traction was ..eh. But dry traction with a good tire pressure and suspension set up they were very sticky tires in the curves That's odd, I have no push issues regarding tire flex. What side wall did you have? 40 or 45?
ean carr
Was running 215/45/
550
Was running 215/45/17 That might be why I never really feel any tire flex, with a 17x8 rim and the 215/40 I have a tiny bit of stretch so that probably helps my case a little bit. Good info though as most people will probably run a 45 series tire.
B Mac
Then he will be avoiding this tire since for at least half the year it doesn't get above 50 degress in the Seattle area, and we are known for wet weather. Well that settles it! Another tire I loved was the goodyear eagle f1 all season. That tire plowed through water like it wasn't even there. Super stiff sidewalls made potholes less dangerous and handling was fantastic!! On a more budgetminded suggestion, general exclaim uhp. I found that to also have great dry traction and water displacement. Temperature didn't seem to have too large an effect on traction.
dublin14
Seems like a lot of people like them, however most of what I read was from 2009, which from the looks of it was a time when these tires were a lot cheaper. I think that people love finding great deals, and tend to blow good deals out of proportions into great deals quite frequently. I know I've done the same thing before. Forums seem to snowball the effect in this regard. From a quick search it looks like those tires are around the same price, if not more expensive than the PSS's. Do you know what the best place to buy these is? Im in Canada and Im not sure of the cheapest in the US. I can tell you that they were $400 cheaper not to long ago vs the Pilot Sports when I grabbed a full set of 245/40/18s. I'll see what I can find. But they are better than any tire out there. Plus being in seattle, rain performance is just amazing.
drin850
Also running KDW2s. 215/45/17. Still have them on after 4 seasons. Could probably go another if my alignment didn't eff up the inside part of the tire. Traction was good in wet and dry. They are noisy, but you get used to it. I'm actually pretty surprised how long they've lasted.
Keep Calm Chive On
Semi off-topic but I previous had Kumho MX... they were the sex they have since been replaced but some retailers still have stock of them. WHY the fuck did they go up like $45 a tire? nothing compound wise has changed I assume seeing as they dont make them I loved the Kumho MX they were amazing on the dry and about just as good in the wet (be gradually cautious as they gradually wear). They handled great and the sidewalls were stiffer than continentals so it was an instant improvement over them floppy cocks (just all season shit) Now... As the MX isnt listed anymore (only run flats) on their site they show the XS... anyone had these on their betty before? I loved the MX but for the price increase to have run flats... I dont want to
sjmcarz
Continental Extreme Contact DWS seems to be a favorite of many, and fairly priced. Great year round tire. I personally like the Michelin Primacy MXM4 or MXV4, not an all out performance tire but great all around tire.
Keep Calm Chive On
I want to see some personal reviews of the Continental ExtremeContact DW (not DWS) because I have been interested in them but I know that continental is known for having softer sidewalls

Ghost Shadow
I like Kumho ecsta AST. I currently use them in 235/40x18, and have used them also in 235/45x17 ASX. Excellent wet & dry traction, I also actually used them all through the last two winters, although I wouldn't recommend them as winter use for FWD. Good tread wear. Much better wear than the Sumitomo's I had previously, which would also blow out the sidewall at the slightest hint of a pothole. Hussein, rarely do i disagree with you. This time i will have to. From my experience selling wheels and tires to customers. I have seen alot of stuff. From treads seperating from the sidewall, to flat spots on tires causing out of round. here's my experience kumhos: suck all around from 26's to 16" tires, sidewall cracking, to flat spots to fast wearing despite the tread rating(lies) conti dws zero complaints zero problems, did these in variety of flavors 225/35/19 on B5 S4 stage 3+ to 245/50/17 acura rl oem tire replacement nitto invos 225/40/18's, 215/45/17 ect ect nadda nothing zilch falken azentis or anything falken from 215/55/16 to 285/30/22 they suck ass, belts ripping, treads shifting, out of round, yoko avid, not a problem toyo proxy t1 awesome tire, complaint low low tread life nitto 555 awesome tire like the toyo but better tread life coopers suck ass(personal opinion) hankook noisy after a few thousand miles, several complaints on that nankang bottom of the budget junk tires michelins: name brand expensive, overall great tires linglong/runway/sunny are all china made tires that i call no name and use them to hit a price point. customers ask what brand are they? i say they black and round and hold air = cheapest one i can can find! three catagories PRICE QUALITY or PERFORMANCE, you can only get two price/performance conti dws performance/price: toyo quality/performance: michelin my opinion price/performance recommandation nitto, or conti avoid no name my recommondations come from a retail stand point of guageing feedback from customer complaints and comments i personally have had toyo t1's, nitto 555's summer tire currently on my c70, on my xc90 currently is nitto nt420s all season. had coopers on my c70 and they suck donkey balls
