rootwater7 Posted January 3, 2012 Report Share Posted January 3, 2012 So, I'm totally at a loss. I need to get at my camshaft position sensor and cannot for the LIFE of me find it! Every picture I can find is not the same engine that's in my car, and no one has been able to tell me definitively exactly where to find it and what it looks like. Do any of you have an actual photograph of my make & model of engine as well as exactly where the CPS is? Thank you so much! Brad850 Posted January 3, 2012 Report Share Posted January 3, 2012 This is for an 850. I know you said you can't find one for your car but I can't imagine it would be much different. rootwater7 Posted January 3, 2012 Author Report Share Posted January 3, 2012 Sadly, my engine looks quite a bit different (all 5 coil packs are lined up behind the oil cap, for instance). I'll grab a pic and upload it tomorrow, and will also see if I can find something similar in mine to that pic - thanks! I put '99 V70XC; sorry I thought that would be enough. rootwater7 Posted January 3, 2012 Author Report Share Posted January 3, 2012 I'm going to upload 2 pix from my phone (so they're big, but I didn't want them to end up pixilated). It's currently 16 with a windchill of 2, so I really, really appreciate your help! It's too cold to be poking around today without knowing for sure what I'm looking for so I can do it quick (though I do have a better idea after a stressful day yesterday!). Anything I see that looks like it could be remotely the right spot has something in the way (a tube, wire, the MAF), and therefore not as easy as when someone tells me "It's easy; you just unscrew that one bolt".... so I'm pretty darn confused. db130 Posted January 3, 2012 Report Share Posted January 3, 2012 if that last post doesn't help you, go to eeuroparts.com and pull up part number 9202134 now you know what it looks like go to your engine bay, look for that sensor's connector underneath the intake manifold - now trace its wire back to the general vicinity where people have been telling you to look you will have to unbolt the sensor by feel. i didn't have to remove my top mount either when i replaced mine.
