NUFAN
My CEL is on all the time due to an MBC that I added to my car. Is there anyway to disable the CEL so that it cannot not turn on? Is this a bad thing to do? I figure that if the CEL went on due to something else being wrong, not because of the MBC, I wouldn't know it anyways since it is on full time due to the CELThanks in advance
Bay13
You are correct, you are pretty sure why the light is on, however what if it's not. Only way to disable the light would be to pull the bulb on the instrument cluster, and then check your codes often to ensure you don't have any codes, other than whats being set because of the MBC. tarp
Is there anyway to take the bulb out without cracking the dash open? The easiest way to remove the instrument cluster is by the procedure in Bay 13:http://www.volvospeed.com/Dashremove.htmThose who've done it say it takes about 30 min. A while back, I followed the procedure in Chilton's to swap out a bulb in the instrument cluster, which is NOT the way to do it. :(

Bay13
The above link will work however the dash vents come out differntly. To get the vents out so you can get to the screws, look into the vents and you will see two small thin metal bars that if you stick a hook in and pull the bar towards you it will release the vent so you can pull it out.
