andyb5
The Volvo warranty reports for my car lists the key code as a 6 digit number/letter combo. Am I correct in saying that if someone gets a warranty report (all dealers can run them) this means that they have their immo code, which means you should be able to clone them an ECU? Honeyman
Hey Neubar, just to follow up, the Volvo guys suggested to go aftermarket in this case- as you are already aware.... Maybe you should send it off while working down south? That way you got zero down time!
NEU
Thanks AJ. Yeah that would have been the plan to do it while on travel, since I couldn't afford to have my car down for more then a long weekend. Unfortunately I leave at the end of Feb. and don't see a solution happening in the next couple weeks... But really my main worry is shipping out the ECU and having something happen in transit and really being up "The Creek". I've shipped out too much electronics in padded boxes to Pelican cases and seen them damaged. I guess it's also knowing too many guys that worked at UPS who would see how far they could drop kick packages... So I think my ECU will stay put in my car unless someone has another idea or Lucky is able to get the IMMO without me shipping it too him. BTW I owe you a couple rounds for that... ;)

Ghost Shadow
even with putting $2000 insurance on it, would that calm your nerves? I am on the fence about it. My car has a tune and it is from fat ass oliver. i know it was never ever ment for my manual since i get a p1600 and p1618 code aka missing tcu. C'mon Homey, "Use the Force, Luke." Insure, certify, and let it rip... you can track its progress if need be. Life's too short! Otherwise just go with the downloader. ARD - Lucky
We offer ME7 tuning now of course for 99-00 models and 01-04 will be available in first of Feb... In fact I've actually done a few 01+ car so far but cloning is something new. So with anything new time is required to figure the whole picture and see what's possible. As it is now I can clone an ECU here at my bench but nothing remote yet. I know we all want this to happen, none more than me! And remember we're doing stuff here with ME7 that I've yet to see anyone in the aftermarket offer or take on.. so breaking new ground is always challenging from a patience standpoint, at least for me anyway. I'm hoping for a remote solution to cloning but it's looking more and more like the time needed to develop it won't be worth it. Couple that with a remote tuner option becoming available shortly and we're in better shape than it might seem. Thanks
andyb5
I know I don't mind waiting for Lucky to offer new services that no other tuner can do yet. A few weeks wait is worth it The Volvo warranty reports for lists the key code as a 6 digit number/letter combo.
