Me7 Ecu Cloning

The key code that is on file with Volvo refers to the code used when you physically cut a new key to match the tumblers of the car. Not the same as the Key code that the transponder in the Key has.

When it comes to IMMO there's actually two codes: 1. is the transponder code to the Immo 2. is the Immo pin resident on the ECM and ECM. We're concerned with the later for this conversation.

Was talking to guy on a chip flashing forum last night and he swore you could simply remove the Immo chip from the ECU and it would allow the car to start. Well... I can confirm that's not true

Would have been nice if it was :(

I looked in VIDA the other day when I had the car hooked up to it and I couldn't find anything there either. It did say I had 4 keys programmed to the car. Unfortunately it only came with 1 when I bought it. LOL.

Would be nice to know if there is a way for us VIDA users to program new keys or transponders. There's got to be some kind of way if you could get a hold of the actual software file that is downloaded from the dealer. But I'm sure it's all just easy in theory. The ignition lock assembly is on its way out on my car and I really don't want to have to go to the dealer on it and I don't necessarily want to bypass the immobilizer.

I just got a CEM download from an S80 so I'm going to start running through the code to see if I can find the Immo pin code. If so then the likelyhood to create a simple OBDII CAN cable interface and readout the CEM is looking better and may be a simple way to get the pin code.

End of the day, the remote loader makes all this moot so not sure if it's worth the effort....

Hey guys, I have been using you guus for info and it has been great. I just bought a 2000 s70 glt. I bad to replace the turbo and i recently came across a 2000 v70r ecu and some white injectors. My question is about this ecu can it be programmed to work with my car if I ship it to you? I live in pa, what was the comment about carlilse?

Yes this would be for Luckys tune, without me shipping both ECU cross country. In one of his PM to me he asked me if my spare ECU was cloned, so I assumed others could do that, like the dealer or possibly Speedtuning which is 30min from me. LIke I stated I'd prefer not to ship my original ECU "just in case" something happens to it. And if something did happen what would I have to do to get another ECU programed to my immobilizer?

Neu, my ecu came back and is installed into my car. WHAT A WONDERFULL DIFFERENCE. I dont care if fat albert is your next door neighbor(oliver) i would never ever use him again, you want a great running vehicle? You need ARD, with carlisle a few months away, maybe you can just do a tune on the fly at the show. i am so hapy with my car right now! you will too once you get the tune done.

I can program the 2000 V70R to work with your model but I'll need your original ECU in hand to get the Immo code. It may be possible to pull the Immo code from the ECU through the OBDII port but that's a ways in the future.

As for Carlisle we'll be there with tuning gear in hand so it might be possible to do it there depending on my schedule and what the show coordinators have to say about it :)

Steve, unfortunately I can't afford to be without my car for more then a long weekend since it's my daily and I don't have a driveway full of cars like you do. :P I was going to ship out my ECUs in a Pelican case and insured it up the wazoo to Lucky while I was on travel for a couple weeks, but couldn't get things together before going. I have another trip coming up before Carlisle, but would wait IF Lucky brings his gear for a 20psi Black tune...
