are there any sorta tricks to ensure that it settles properly?

just wondering from you guys who have this stuff

only a couple months to go before i get the cash

settling happens normally, you should not try to make it happen quicker by introducing an increased load. Just make sure your components are installed propperly, get an alignment and go throw it at some twisties

Check junkers for wheel speed sensors.

I figured they rubbed. I used to rub a little on my old '95 850 with 215/40/17 w/ipd springs. I eventually went up to 45s after I bent every single one of my rims! Then it really rubbed, it took the paint of the car behind the wheel well cover. After that I scored some "16 turbo wheels for free and put those on and sold the tsw's and rubbing went bye bye. I'm glad it sounds like yours don't rub that bad.

would it stop rubbing if you tightened your suspension?

or does that not help

thanks for the info on the natural settling thing

i just wanted to make sure you don't need to haul around a full tank of gas

just in case it goes up instead of down

As for rubbing, tightening the suspension won't help. You either need to A) roll the fenders out, or B) get narrower tires (ie 40 inbsead of 45). On my car, it only rubs the inside. Only a wheel spacer can save that, and IMHO the wheels stick out perfectly so I'll deal with that.

The settling just has to happen. Don't sweat it.

I'll measure the ride height tonight.

The Konis on the front are easily adjusted via a knob they give you. You stick it on the top of the strut and turn. The rears are more difficult. You have to remove them off the lower bolt, compress them all the way up, and then twist. The top mount can stay on, but removing the lower bolt requires jacking up the car. Then you have to jack up the trailing arm to unload the shock. Not terrible, took me about 30 mins to do both sides.

Thanks for the junker tip for the speed sensors! I'll run a diagnostic first to see if that's the deal. I'll also post once I know exactly what it is so that others won't suffer my same problem.

Okie doke! Daytime pictures are here. This first one is a "before" shot to compare the differences.

I took this one about 15 minutes ago...

And now front and back close-up shots, respectively.

Voila! I still have the tenative issue of a front strut leak, I'll post on that if anything changes.

Measurements are now 12 and 7/8" in front and 13 and 1/8" on the rear.

Ever fix the ABS problem?  Check the codes that might help you narrow down where you have the problem, most likely just a wire came off the connector or something like that.

Nope, still seeing the lights. I threw a 444, which apparantly means "No power to the speed sensor" or something along those lines. I've checked the fuses, but I'm thinking I messed up the internals of the wire when moving it off the bracket. It certainly didn't come off easy.

Edit: Thank you very much to everyone for all your compliments! I hope this information and these pictures are helpful to those yet looking for supsension upgrades. Also, thank you for your tips on the electronics woes, I'm open to any and all ideas!

Okay, Update here. The springs have settled really nicely, and there is NO visible difference between the rear and front with this setup. Yesterday I went back under and turned the rears down to full soft, so it takes speed bumps and such a bit softer. Perfect.

Also, the ABS/TRACS issue was throwing a 444 code, which meant no power to the speed sensor. Turns out one of the leads going down there was bad, and easily replaced. No more lights! Woot!

See you guys in SC!

Hey BeachRat what ever happened to the front strut leak situation? Was it due to faulty strut manufacturing?

Thank you for reminding me! It stopped seeping quite as much. There is still a little bit of fluid right at the flathead knob you turn to adjust the strut. However, there doesn't seem to be any loss of performance in comparison to the other side, which didn't leak. So I'm leaving it alone for now. If I decide it's really gone bad, there's always the warranty. Unfortunately, if I think it's bad and Koni doesn't, I eat the cost of a new strut! But so far, so good!
