Bought An S60 T5M

First s60 I've driven/owned. Got a fair price for the condition, and couldn't resist. I was getting sick of the C70 T5M.

115k. Already ordered the timing belt stuff. What other stage 0 stuff should I be looking out for? The car runs great with no warning lights or anything. Adult owned and cared for.Unfortunately I don't have any records. I cracked open the air filter housing and it had a brand new Volvo/Mann air filter, so that makes me feel a little better. I'm hoping the ETM has been serviced already. Any way to tell?

Interior is FLAWLESS. The seats look brand new. Not a lick of wear on any of them. The only wear is on the E-brake handle. The leather is peeling off . I don't see how that happens.

Very Clean Car! I love S60's...I currently own 3 Volvos and 2 of them are S60's. I have an 05' S60 2.5T and an 02' S60 T5-and they're phenomenal cars and very reliable. My T5 is a beast. I've done a few subtle- inexpensive mods which made a significant improvement in power and handling etc.-including IPD strut mount bar mount conversion kit, IPD heavy duty turbo control valve and DDM 55w 6000k HID headlights with bulb out warning harness. (I recommend running ONLY 55w HID's on S60's, anything lower such as 35w will trigger the low beam bulb out message on the dash, even w/ BOW harness) Also, I would change the spark plugs w/ genuine OEM just for peace of mind. Just changed mine on the T5 and it made a huge difference, turbo spools up quick now- and much more responsive! With just a few small upgrades these cars are a lot of fun! Enjoy your rare T5M beauty! There are very few S60 T5's out there and even fewer T5M's

Did a woman own it? All the leather/fabric wear and tear I remember seeing at the dealer was due to them having rings in their fingers.

Good looking car!! Congrats

We have twins in our garage! I have a HPT 98 C70 T5M hardtop with 98k. It's even black. To be honest, my C70 would walk all over the new S60. The S50 does not seem that quick. The C70 has OBX exhaust, EST intake, and MBC at 15 psi.

Did a woman own it? All the leather/fabric wear and tear I remember seeing at the dealer was due to them having rings in their fingers.

It was a man. I just don't understand how the rest of the interior is in new condition, but the ebrake is ripped open. Strange, haha.

Thank you! I need to get it dropped a bit I think.

Congrats on the purchase and welcome to the club!!! I've only got 72k on my 02 T5M but all I've had to fix/replace was a couple of coil packs, and replaced all the spark plugs with OEM Volvo plugs. I did have to replace my ETM with a new one and I had Volvo do it which was big $$$, but that's the biggest problem I've faced in the three+ years I've owned it. My clutch is on it's way out too but that's probably my fault!!LOL An intake, DP, exhaust, and tune and the S60 should have no problem walking on your C70!!

Its the throttle body. Its located on the right side of the intake manifold.

Are you sure it's not under the bottom of the manifold on a t5? I know my t6 was that way.

You are correct sir. The picture is of an NA ME7 car. The turbo version has the etm towards the middle under the intake manifold.

ETM's are beneath the manifold on 99+ turbo models, directly below the "bubble" in the manifold. you're right.
