JackS60
With the Dodgers having picked up Ramirez, the Giants will need to make a splash in free agency to keep up. And replacing the hurt Sandoval is the first step.

JackS60
TO ran a 4.3 and 4.5 40 yesterday and really impressed. If the guy can succeed and not be a cancer, fantastic. But at the first sign of him being a cancer, which I bet is sometime into the season, he'll be cut. But who knows. Hell, he might not make it through camp. Pete is a unconventional coach, remember. Bryant, Edwards, and now TO after releasing BMW...odd.

The Big Tuna
TO ran a 4.3 and 4.5 40 useless stat. running in a straight line, un-guarded doesn't tell you shit about how he's gonna do. But this pick up is very low risk for the hawks!
goobernoodles
Felix Hernandez threw a PERFECT GAME today! Had about 5 people at my desk listening to the radio for the 9th inning. That was friggin cool.
JackS60
Cue someone here making snark comment about the M's.... ...but before you do, here was my words on it. Felix Hernandez has done what Ichiro never did. He has connected with Seattle and our fan base like no Mariner since Griffey. And even then, I don't know if Griffey had this kind of connection. Felix has his own (now multiple) sections. He is not jus t THE King, but OUR King. Felix captivates people whenever and wherever he pitches. Felix is simply incredible. Yet his perfect game was almost predictable. In his last 11 starts, he has multiple shutouts and 3 complete games. Nothing short of a no-hitter was due for The King. And not only did he pitch a no-hitter, but a perfect game at that. It was outstanding. It was amazing. Above all, it was mesmerizing. As you know I work at KJR. Everyone there has seen their fair share of perfect games- some even live at the ballpark. Yet for those final few innings, we all became kids again, rooting on our hero, our King, Felix. And when he finished it, we all jumped and shouted hoorah. It was a moment I'll never forget. So on this random ALL GLORY TO THE HYPNOTOAD afternoon in front of just 21 thousand people, The King, Felix Hernandez, did what no Mariner has done in the history of 34 years of our organization. He faced 27 hitters and made every single one of them sit the hell down. What a game. What a moment. What a King. Congrats to Felix Hernandez and the Seattle Mariners on their 1st ever Perfect Game. JackS60
Thought I'd X-post this from my FB: Yesterday, the Mariners beat the Twins 3-2, Seahawks beat the Broncos 30-10, and Sounders beat the Whitecaps 2-0. This is the first time since September 9th, 2007 since each of those 3 teams won on the same day. Seahawks opened the season with a 20-6 home win against the Bucs, Mariners beat Detroit 14-7 behind King Felix, and the Sounders who were part of the USL First Division beat the Minnesota Thunder 1-0. That took a long time finding.
Zappo
That took a long time finding. Isn't that the job of an intern though? :)
JackS60
I actually dug it up just cause I wanted to. Wasn't asked to do it. Just like that there have been a combined 558 loses among the 3 teams since September 9, 2007.
