FAST850R
Hi, It's been heavy raining for a week. I didn't have not driven my car for a few days, and I found that the passenger side was soaking wet. I attached pictures. Please let me know how to fix it. My car is 1996 850r Thank you
Kevin.
Could be the door seal. Check for leaks and make sure the door closes 100%. How does your headliner look?
Bah
I'd go with what kevin said...it looks like the door isn't getting a good seal, or the window or something on the door. The next thing to go for is the sunroof is NOT closing properly. It'll do this if it is off the track. It might look closed, but it'll appear unbalanced. Try your best to balance it, but generally you will get your sunroof going fubar when it happens... Other option is sunroof drains, but again, you would see the headliner being complete sh*t if this was the case. The A/C drain would not drip that much even if it was completely disconnected and clogged(Unless you ran the car for a few days , A/C Blasting and are just now noticing it) ...Heater Core would be obvious based on the smell and likely be behind the carpet. You can check all your door seals sunroof windshield etc etc fairly easily and accurately if you sit in the car while someone just soaks the car and focus'es on those parts. You should be able to find the issue fairly easily. I can't think of too much else that would cause this unless your floorpans are trash and you live in monsoon country. FAST850R
Make sure your cowl drains arent clogged with leaves. Can leak through recirc door onto passenger floor and come up I think this is the problem. The door seals and sunroof are sealed and no leaks. The 2nd picture is where water leaks. When I opened the door, the 2nd picture area was leaking badly. So...where is the Crowley drain thing? Do I open the cabin filter area?? Bah
The cowl is under the hood, near the wipers. The piece of plastic that slides into the bottom of the windshield. It should be held in IIRC w/ 4 torx screws. Be careful putting it back in, some bad windshield replacement places will glue your cowl in...ask me how i know > Once you take the cover off, you'll see the flap door. Assuming you DONT have a filter in this location, you'll see the door. If you have a filter, you'll see the filter is probably clogged beyond belief. The hose connects literally on the cowl, and can be really really grosssss. They normally have the stock clamps, you press them together and the hoses slide off. There is a holder on the hose below to prevent it from sloshing around as you drive, and if you go below the car you will see it. If it really is clogged to hell with leaves and dirt and bugs and money like mine was (seriously found a penny in mine...) , you might want to take the hose completely out to clean. http://volvospeed.com/volvo_repairs_how_tos/filter_replacements/pollen_cabin_filter_replacement.html The first picture should be plenty for you to see what's going on You see the hose? It's best to just take the cowl off so you can check this to be sure and clean the filter while your in there...but you can clean it by just pulling the clamp off and shoving something down the hose that won't tear it. Leave that to you. It's straight forward.
T-5Bandit
It's really easy for the cowl drains to get clogged with debris, I also had them clog and leak into the passenger side before. Before going through the effort to undo them from the cowl, I would blow them out with air if you have a air compressor. Usually does the trick for me.
