Coolant Leak With Pics - Repair Questions

I just noticed today that I have some coolant leaking near a coolant hose the hose itself does not appear to have a leak, it seems like the radiator itself next to the hose. Coolant level looks fine. No foam in the oil/on the dipstick.

Please advise as to what may be causing this. My car has 194000 mls, an 02 S60 2.4T.

Coolant in reservoir looks fine, not discolored. No high temp readings when engine is warm at this point.

Has been running slightly rough at startup though (no RPM fluctuation).

Thanks!

I have pics just don't know how to upload them.

Sounds like you figured it out on your own, take a closer look at the radiator around the affected area. Sometimes it's not obvious. Also, check the rad hose clamp.

Thanks, yeah it does seem to be the radiator itself. Looks like plastic and metal or is the OEM radiator all metal?

Do you know/anyone reading this know of a online radiator replacement tutorial for an S60? It seems rather intimidating to me as I think about it. Wonder what I can expect an idie fix it car shop to charge me for a replacement any idea?

If its the upper right hand side (passenger side) its probably cracked at the neck..Mine broke completely off in my parents driveway..Had to have it towed and the stupid tow truck driver...well thats another story. The aftermarket radiators don't have the metal re-inforcement in the neck like OEM so don't overtighten the new one. use 1/4" drive not 3/8" when tightening hose clamp.

Its actually the upper passenger side area that is leaking, can not tell from were. Somewhere along the metal to plastic interface as I can see a tan brownish white crust type of buildup. Wiped it down in order to gauge daily leakage. Does not seem to have leaked in the last couple of days. Got a quote on an OEM replacement and labor and it was 155 for the radiator and 5.5 hours for labor - total 507.00.(if it does need the 5.5 hours labor to complete the work.) jack told me (Jacks Garage and Radiator Service in Pelham Alabama) that he would sell me the radiator at his cost if I wish to do it myself. I have many other things to address in the future with my car, I plan on letting him do the work as I can afford it. Such a nice guy and willing to work with me at his indie shop, very thankful! Thank you for the reply.

Does anyone know how to detach the coolant overflow tank from the power steering fluid, if so please tell me how. I have tried many times but can not get them to come apart. Thinking about cutting the top interface to see if this allows for them to come apart. I have a new coolant overflow tank and sensor that I wish to install. Thank you for your help.

I've used a pic tool with a 90 degree angle and a lot of patience with some success..For the most part your going to bend the heck out of it. Uhh, second thought, forget the pic tool kid, you'll poke your eye out!..If your replacing it anyway, why don't you just cut it?

I thought to cut it but did not know if cutting the attachment would release the two tanks so.......

I have a new power steering reservoir on order, so I am taking the expensive route to fix this issue. Not too patient am I ! :)
