Just doing a quick search, Power Acoustik seems to be bottom of the barrel. I'm not a very big fan of the company, but Infiniti would be an improvement. As long as you buy the proper size, speaker replacement is very easy.

As far as amp mounting location, trunk is very popular. Depending on how much and what you use your car for, you could always install the amps in the trunk, close to the back seat, and hide them with a fake wall.

Ive heard mixed reviews about power acoustik.... most of them not so good.

As far as mounting amps you got tons of options. Im assuming you have a wagon? If so you got room in the back behind the panels, under the side floor panels if its a smaller amp, or in the spare tire well.. also under the front seats, ive also seen them mounted on the back of the rear seats (not good if you need to lay them down to haul stuff).

sedan no wagon, sorry for the lack of info. Infinity kappa series I really love the sound of and have used before. performane, suspension all that the wifes cool with but thought the 2200 for speakers subs and amps going with infinity was a bit too expensive. p.a amps have some seriously good specs for the price, if p.a speakers are crap i might do alright price wise with infinity reference series correct?

I had a Power Acoustik Amp... said it was 1400 watts... pushed about half as much as my 500 watt Memphis... take what you want from that but I don't believe their specs...

Well Sedans have more mounting options in my opinion....in the trunk you can hang those thing under the shelf behind the back seat, again under the floor in the trunk and also under the front seats....pretty much the same as any car really...

Ive talked her into the kappas with kappa subs so the question is amplifiers than. low thd, and matched power is what im looking for. i dont want to over power the speakers or blow the doors off, i listen to a really wide variety of music, im a bass head, and tonal quality is important to me both in the home and the car. What amps would be a good route to go?

I'm a fan of Polk Audio, and have a slightly older PA series amp I'm wrapping up installing in my R. Rockford Fosgate makes very nice amps too, and you certainly can't go wrong with anything from JL Audio.

Do you want a 4 channel amp for mids and tweeters, and a dedicated mono amp for your sub? Or do you want a 5 channel amp that powers everything?

see thats where my knowledge runs out, 8 speakers means 8 channels right? so two 4ch amps? do they make a 8ch amp? and yes looking for a mono amp for two twelve inch kappas in the trunk

Two twelves in the trunk? One properly installed and driven twelve is all you need, even as a "bass head." I forget exactly what my sub is, but I have a Fosgate 12" sub and three or four hundred watt amp, with the gain somewhere around 4 (out of 10). My setup could drown out the music with bass if I wanted to, but I prefer overall sound quality.

I like the quality, i remember in the buick one 12 couldent really do it (that was a kappa) although a 8in bass driver through that rear seat pass....
