Mattphi
So I need to removed the side trim on the doors (EXTERIOR) and the rain trim things on the roof for a project coming up. What's the easiest way to remove all of this? I figured the rain trim you just pop them out, but I've never looked into doing the side trim and don't feel like breaking them all. Thanks in advance! Yellow95
On what car? side trim on an 850 is cake. Sidetrim on an s70 is taped on. As for the roof trim start at the front and pop straight up. Be very careful as its aluminum in the inside and will bend.
Mattphi
Thanks, the roof trim on the car sounds pretty straight forward. But I'm talking about the S70. Are there clips on the side trim?
Yellow95
nope, just tape. Be careful not to bend them or life will suck every time you look at them.

Serge
You can try using a heat gun to soften the glue. Be careful not to bubble the paint, though.

Mattphi
Thanks for all the replies, everyone. I haven't done this yet, but if the shop requires it... I will have to! Great info in here, though.

ean carr
Has anyone run no rub strips on the doors/fenders on a S70? I have wanted to do it for years now, but never knew what the paint looked like underneath.
Yellow95
There are holes for centering pegs on the trim and the indention for the trim would look ghetto as hell.
Burn-E
You would have to fill in the indentation and holes. It's possible, just would take some good bodywork to accomplish and make look good.
Nogman
This is actually on my project list for the summer, fill the holes and the channel. Already filled the bumper lines in and want to match the smoothness all around.
