I've had this happen before on the front driver side. The door lock actuator need to be replaced. Door lock actuators appear to sell for approx. $147 on many of the usual volvo parts suppliers. Minneapolis Volvo dealer Borton Volvo www.borton.com does a great job with OEM parts; both of these Lock Actuators ran me $105 ea from Borton Volvo. I have been happily please with many Original Volvo Parts I have purchased through Borton. Replacing the Lock Actuator requires patience and a Long Handle pop rivet tool; I purchased the Astro Pneumatic 1426 1/4-Inch Heavy-Duty Hand Riveter for about $28. You need the long nose for reach and the long handle for leverage to install the Steel Rivets.
