Yellow95
I got a smoking deal on the full dolby set up but the previous owner cut the radio rails out to put a double din unit in. Is there any way I can use the stock stereo again? Gary
D s50r
I've tried a lot of different options but never sat flush needed to replace the part of the dash

scandalo
I have been rocking that out for years and not had a problem. It fits so snug in there that it doesn't really affect anything. But this is just my experience.
Yellow95
I didnt know the radio area was seperate from the other parts of the dash. Stu Good info. I guess I need to try it huh?
(n)A-GAME
Gary- You need to replace this piece if it won't sit flush. It's held on with a bunch of those interior torx screws.
TBM
Gary- You need to replace this piece if it won't sit flush. It's held on with a bunch of those interior torx screws. Aren't the screws holding the radio trim down to the dash only accessible from the back of the dash?
(n)A-GAME
You can access the part without removing the dash. It takes about as long to replace it leaving the dash in place as it does removing the dash, so it's user preference really. Removing the dash can be time consuming, but once it's out, you can get this part exchanged in about 5 minutes and take care of any squeaks/rattles while you're at it. If you leave the dash in, you have to access the screws at weird angles so it takes a lot longer, but it is possible. I've done it both ways and I'd just as soon take the whole dash out. db130
another option would be to use one of those universal mounting straps like the Metra BS9 http://www.amazon.com/Install-Inch-Metal-Mounting-Strap/dp/B001JT01V4 attach the strap to the back of the factory stereo, remove the glovebox, and look for a suitable bolt/stud to attach the strap to. i've removed the HVAC surround without taking the dash apart. it can be done. i'd recommend a 1/4" ratchet with extensions and swivels and whatnot. TaskMule
Does anyone have a tutorial on how to get this piece out, or a diagram of any secret screw locations? I was at the pick and pull today, and after pulling the dash, I still couldn't get the radio frame out. Irritating. Whats the secret?
BEJinFBK
A good picture of the back of the radio/ECC trim so you know where all the screws are, a lot of patience and most importantly, one of these:
