vivalavolvo
Hello, I was wondering if there were any pro tips to keep my roof working well. Nothing is wrong, and i would like to keep it that way. Now and then i see the "help roof stuck open" post and i do not want to be one of them :)
jefhon
i treat the sealing strips with black silicone every so often to prevent them from drying out & cracking (getting destroyed, i.e.). other than this i don't know of any particular tips. the metal "springs" or fingers that help the inside door along recently broke on mine; other wise i've had no problems whatsoever with my sunroof: extremely satisfied. & i've got 175K on the vehicle. there may be some oil or grease treatments to apply to the running rails or other equipment on or around the glass door? its a great question though since we already know that many sunroofs fail after 50K miles or more on many makes. i'll be watching this thread to see if any of the mech.s on here have tips/tricks. i'd be curious to know the mileage on the "roof stuck open" victims...best wishes to all! jeff
andyb5
Be sure to clean your drains out with compressed air. With the sunroof retracted/open, you'll see a small opening in each corner of the track area. Blast that for a minute or two with compressed air to make sure they're good and clean.
