c70dude87
Im running a single 12inch sub with a cap on a c70 with/ dolby. i upgraded the alternator to 120 amp, brand new interstate battery and brand positive cable wire thats ran through the fuse box. All of my lights except my HID's are having this "wavy dimming" ,even when the stereo is off. Could it be a bad ground or something????
okoye
you definitely would need to check your cables. you wouldnt want a fire.
MattyXXL
Do the 70's have a voltage reg like the 850's? if so after checking the cables, id test the voltage reg.. thats if you have one thats like the one on the

JVC
What OHM are you running your sub at with how much Wattage? I ran mine at 1 ohm and lights dimmed, swapped out for a different woofer at 4 ohms and it doesn't dim anymore because the wattage is less for 4 ohm. And you have a capacitor so that stores power for when you need it..look for loose battery and alternator wires. What brand alternator (is it a reman) HIDs are not dimming because the ballast is converting power..
Paultakular
Capacitors really aren't useful at all.. the only benefit to them is a flashing lights a voltage reading. If you really wanted to make sure your amp was getting plenty of power wire in a second battery

mune237
Besides the sub, is the rest of the system stock for the C70? No added amps?

If the dimming is pulsed and regular, NOT dropping with bass hits, a big three upgrade probably won't make any difference. It may be a poor connection or a bad cable tripping up the regulator, but I'd start with the alternator and/or regulator. OP - Did you resolve this?
