kaptinkafeen
Hi guys, My '99v70's blower motor seems to have a mind of its own. Typically, the blower motor will not turn on manually or in AUT. The problem is not temp specific. It occurs in the cold or hot. An observation I have made is that occasionally, after stopping the car for say a fuel fill up, and then restarting, the blower will turn on and work fine. The car had a new blower motor installed by the previous owner. I'm at a loss here! I've read some threads re: the blower motor resistor, and flipping through the Chilton manual, some info re: the air duct temp sensor and the interior temp sensor - but, have no idea of how to diagnose the problem. I don't want to replace parts unnecessarily. The A/C system is currently empty, but I had it pressure tested and there are no issues. I will re-charge the system this summer, however, I don't think (please correct me) that the a/c would have any bearing on the blower motor operation. Any insight would be appreciated, Thanks -Andrew
Ihatespeedbumps
Very likely the blower motor resistor is to blame. It's fairly easy to change, located right beside the blower motor.
