marsman
Over the last several months I have noticed a squeel at speed (02 S60 2.4T with 196,000mls) - over 25 mph and it sounds like it is coming from the right front passenger side. I have semi metalic brake pads and when I apply the brakes it squeels too. This sound is similar to that sound. I installed the brake pads and did not change the rotors at the time - about 1.5 years ago. Also, my steering rack needs to be replaced, could this be making the noise? Or would it possibly be the bearing hub assembly? I read that a failing bearing hub makes a low roaring sound when going bad though, not sure. Thank you! survolvo
Might be a caliper sticking. You would notice a wheel bearing making more noise when taking a curve. I don't think that rack would make the noise, turn the wheel while not driving and see if you hear it at all.
