Matty Moo
I found a nice set of seats out of a 99 v70 last year to put into my 96 Platinum Wagon. The drivers side seat out of the 99 is a memory seat just like the one that came out, plug and play...no issues. The problem is the passenger side. The newer seat is non-memory, the seat out of the 96 was memory. So, it isn't plug and play. I have two sockets that plug into the seat. They plug in but of course nothing happens. I've looked at some wiring diagrams but can't figure them out...at all. I need to figure out what I need to change around to make it work. I plan on selling it this week and would like to get it finished.
Keaton85
Does it have to be memory? I was going to install Volvo seats into my Tacoma and just hooked it up directly to 12V. I don't think anything else is needed as long as the seat is getting power.
Matty Moo
No, it isn't going to be memory, all I really need to know is the 12 volt input and ground on the newer 99 seat. I can figure out the 12v constant that's coming up to the seat. The plugs plug in, but the wiring on the seat is different from 96 to 99.
Matty Moo
Got it figured out, it was just a matter of trying to decipher the diagrams.
BtownVolvo
Hey Matt would you mind posting up that wiring diagram? (or just post what goes where ) I'm having the exact same issue in a buddy's car I'm trying to fix. Did you repin the connectors or just cut/resoldier the connections? I had to swap a couple of wires. But..... I sold the car. Should have snapped a picture, but he's coming back by to get some things so I will then. My wiring was fine, in the end there was a problem with the switch that came with the seat. Some 96's came with passenger memory seats. Both my platinum and glt had pass. memory seats.
