rgreen4
Went out to start the car after being out of town for a month cranked over fine but no start. I checked the fuel pump fuse ok, relay ok, fuel pump will not start. Checked out the pump with aux power pump runs fine. Checked for voltage at the fuel pump connector no voltage w/ ignition on or when cranking, checked for voltage at the relay connections again no voltage, checked for voltage at the fuse connections again no voltage, again with ignition on and when cranking. Is there something else that I'm missing in circut I don't have a wiring diagram.
fred leonard
you can try to do a hard battery cable reset (disconnect the batt positive and negative let the sit for five mins then touch the pos and neg together and hold for 30 seconds or so) this will reset all modals.its worth a try. rgreen4
Did somemore testing found out that I don't have spark either, Also when I connect my ODBII analyzer I get an "unable to establish connection message".
rgreen4
I tried the hard rest as suggested still nothing and I also just went out and relaced the ecm with a used one from Erie VoVo still no star tand getting same message on the ODBII code reader "can't establish connection with ecm",. This is getting frustrating.

Ihatespeedbumps
year/model? If your car is OBD II compliant (94+ 850 Turbos, 96+ all other models) have you checked the OBD fuse?

rgreen4
Model year 98 V 70 T5, and which is the OBDII fuse?, The scanner lights up and trys to establish a connection, so if the fuse is blown wouldn't scanner not light up at all, doesn't it get its' power from the car itself? Ihatespeedbumps
Fuse 5 in the cowl fuse panel. Should be a 15A.
optimus prime
would the code reader even turn on without power from the obdII?
erikv11
I'm guessing it would because most code readers have their own batteries. Probably lights up when it gets a ground. But if you're really curious, pull fuse 5 and hook yours up see what happens ...
atefitty
You don't just loose spark from a car sitting for a month, I'm assuming the car ran before you left..You didn't specify..Don't rule out rodents..I've seen this before when cars sit a while..Check wiring under the hood..If a rodent got to it you will know when u see it..Check for any kind of rodent nest under the hood..This is especially true if you leave out food for pets, your also feeding the rodents. rgreen4
Yes the car ran before I left and it was started and run once during that time by a friend with no problems and there are no signs of rodent damage anywhere. I also checked the #5 fuse as erikv11 suggested it was ok.
rgreen4
Here's another update I turned on the ignition w/out cranking and noticed that the the "CHECK ENGINE" does not come on, I believe that thiis has been the case from the beginning. Does this mean that the the ECM is not getting any power and hence no response to the odbII scanner? Keep in mind that I have already tried another working ECM and I 've checked and rechecked every fuse and relay that I can see that might be associated with the ECM..
