98glt-5
So, I'm doing a revision N swap in my car, and I'm having a hard time visualizing the turbo coolant and oil lines, I tried to do some searching but i'm still a little confused. Do they fit from the rn block? Or do I have to make something? or use the old pipe and lines and get rid of the oil cooler on the back?
bum2kev
no need to get rid of the cooler. just make sure you have the oil feed line that came on the RN engines with the windows on the back of the block. this is so that it can clear the windows and also move around the water pipe. what year RN engine? do you have the RN coolant pipe? 98glt-5
I have the RN everything, oil lines, coolant lines. all came with the engine, they didn't cut anything, which is nice of them.. its an 02. and then obviously have all the x70 pipes too. I have the RN sitting on a stand and I took a look at it, and after a long day at work it started bothering me, so after about an hour of looking at it, then back out to my car with a flashlight i figured i'd ask for some help on here. sjmcarz
I believe that the 2002 engines have a different configuration on the water pipe for the turbo lines(the CHRA on the turbo is different) You may need to source a 1999-2000(2001?) water pipe. lookforjoe
its never going to work What are you talking about? Who the fuck are you? Of course it will "work" it's just a question of setting it up. OP - pics of what you bought would be helpful. Much better to keep the later oil cooler pan & ditch the early shite setup
98glt-5
I wish I was at work right now, id take a picture. I know there is a thread on here that compares coolant pipe on the back of the engines, the 850 style, the 99-00 stylem and the 02 style. I'm doing my best to find it. The oil line look fine, its the two coolant lines that are bothering me, ill keep searching for it.
98glt-5
another question, would the 98 coolant pipe fit the newer style block? if so, then I could weld a bung onto the old pipe for the new style cooler. Just thinking, with some help from bmac.

98glt-5
Thanks Hussein, that's what I was thinking, and Ben said i should do too. One less thing I have to worry about, actually that was the last thing I had to worry about, hopefully the rest goes nice and smooth.
