Raylesk
What's the best bang for buck if I only have $300 to spend on a 2000 s70 with sc-816? Sounds ok but have $300 to spend.
Mossback
Start with one of these, fairly easy install on the 816: http://pacificstereo...CFQtThwodNFNEUg
Raylesk
Thanks for the reply. I don't use iPod...don't listen to compressed music.
Mossback
Since you have such a discerning ear, in a car no less, I would invest my money in soundproofing. Dynamat, a knock off or its liquid equivalent. Its the only way you can get any benefit with a stock head unit. Stock speakers aren't too bad and I would tackle road noise first. Loads of threads on improving your ambient environment. search newb. :D
BEJinFBK
New HU. For that money, you might find a 901 with an amp and harness...Great sound, stock look. $300 would also get a nice A/M unit and easily leave you 5 bucks left over for a wiring harness adapter. BEJinFBK
Spray on sound deadener. Kinda like undercoating or bedliner.

Raylesk
Didn't mean to sound negative on iPod...I just don't have one cause I would never listen to it at home and am not about to buy one and spend more money on iTunes for my car. Thanks for replies I like the sound deadening idea and will probably go that route would be nice to get rid of road noise too as I do lots of highway driving.
