i think many might be upset with the PRES election, i think you need to look at the senate house votes as being more important.

every seat was filled by a DEM in PA.

some REP incumbents lost in some really big states.

looks like a few of the kooks got pushed out. AKINS etc.

i think the big picture is the changing mentality and changing views of the middle.

quite frankly, WR would of won if he had not upset the latin voters so much.

i'm optimistic of the future and really believe some big things will get done.

We agree on this Mike. When my daughters asked me this morning why Obama beat Romney I told them, it's clear that a large percentage of those who voted for Obama weren't actually voting FOR him but instead voting against Romney.

I don't agree with either Party but if Romney hadn't been so beholden to the far Right's xenophobic attitudes toward immigrants and had not made some bizarre statements concerning Roe v. Wade he would have won this election.

Who voted for Obama?

Blacks - it's not racist to say that they voted for him even though he has done little to help them - it is fair to say that for many they voted for racist reasons

Single Women - the whole "women's issue"

Young adults under 30 - most of them haven't experienced real life yet

It's unfair to say that the Republican party is that of the old white man because it wasn't just white men who voted for Romney this year. It is fair to say that the Republicans need to reexamine how far they want to be led by the nose by the extreme far Right in their next primary.

Should be interesting. I'm concerned about healthcare and what we are doing to protect us as a people. Otherwise I am looking at my local election and the house and senate seating for real resolution.

As someone who has long wanted less laws/complexity, I found it ironic (or hypocritical?) that I filled in the circle on my state's 3 "a yes vote to this will enact a law that does [...]"

Right to repair : 85% yes

Allow doctor-assisted suicide : 51% no :( [95% reporting]

Medical marijuana : 63% yes

So my parents are black?

I don't know Joe, I've never met them.

It goes without saying that people of all races, creeds, and socioeconomic status voted for Obama and for Romney. The question is how can you characterize their majority voters.

The groupings I identified are the strong majorities that Obama pulled to vote for him.

Romney pulled majorities of these groups:

White males

Married men and women

Seniors 65 years+

So to summarize in your words.

Rednecks.

Rednecks and their wife's.

Alzheimer patients and easily influenced people.
