Weird..

This is just right,

But here it looks like iPD sold you some spacers,

I am running spacers, 10mm front and 20mm rear.

Dave, retail on this job would be about $4k.

And thanks to everyone for all of the compliments!

Well I'm clearly doing something right. Maybe you need to find a new detailer because I haven't seen you take home any hardware from iPd recently.

 Having the approval of 99% isn't the same as having the approval of Jim though.

He didn't have 99%, he barely beat out the 240 for Best in Show.

Everyone is stepping up their game! Well, except me. I seem to be going backwards. :P

I meant everyone who has responded in this thread likes the car... except Jim.

Uh yeah, and chances of that ever happening with the S80 are very slim too. It's styled completely opposite from what is popular in Volvoland. Most people don't understand the concept, but it's always fun.

I never once said I didn't like the car, Carson.

Just to clarify, so there is no further misunderstandings, Danny's car is exceptionally nice, however I work very hard to keep the paint on my own cars as perfectly reflective as possible, just because that's what I personally prefer.

There was a lot of nice cars there, I love painted car there nothing like a good shiny car, but matte is hot right now and Danny stepped out of the box and tried something new and never done before and his presentation was perfect with the Thule color matched and the dealer sticker he made up, just put him over the top IMHO

Something never done before? What planet have you been on? Plenty of matte cars around for years now. Plenty of wrapped cars. A number of them Volvos even.

Danny's wrapper did nice work but let's not pretend that wrapping or a matte car is something brand new.

Danny's car is extremely clean and it is a people's choice show, so popularity of the owner plays as much if not more of a factor here. Danny also executed a textbook PR campaign with his keeping the secret for weeks, teaser thread timing week of show and web unveil morning of the show. Respect from a fellow marketer!

Would be curious how the results would be in a properly judged show. In a judged show we score paint based on how far away we can read printed material in the paint's reflection and subtract points for blemishes so even white/silver/light-colored cars would have an inherent disadvantage and matte finish would have a crippling disadvantage. But much of that is moot in people's choice judging and Danny won fair and square.
