S80T6P_T_M
So now that Im at stage "0" I started my trim refresh because it was sun beat and faded. I want to go for a new look for this model so Im debating on adding a front spliter or lip on the bumper for a more aggressive look.. Any sugestions?? I used plastidip versus paint. I plastidipped a test piece of trim and I like the texture and color so i have most of the trim complete. I will post some pics of the progress. I would like some opinions on the over all progress as well as the one plistidipped wheel. I kinda like it but not sold on it. I did spray everything and later peeled the center cap and will peel the lugs to get some contrast back. I may play with the idea of making the wheel two tone either black or silver as the contrast. What do you think?

Ol' Dirty Noodle
Nice dude, I'm a huge advocate of plastidip, I did my roof in it and my mirrors are drying right this moment

S80T6P_T_M
Thanks, I am becoming a believer. Im trying to finish up 3 quarters done but going to finish soon. I like it on the mirrors too. Thinking of clearing the black wheels, And do a two tone silver/black wheel with clear in the back to see which one looks best. Anyone try cearing plastidip yet? S80T6P_T_M
BTW Im a cash and carry type guy, so I only needed black. So I was glad to find that Home Depot has cans for about 7 bucks. ;)
chlacrosse14
How well does the plastidip hold up on the trim panels? I've had it on my grille for almost a year with no problems. Also, did you remove the trim or just mask it off? I was surprised at how the wheels turned out. I didn't think they would look good in black. S80T6P_T_M
it seems to be holding up well. It has the vinyl feel too it, The only part I removed are the outside window guide/channel at the bottom of the window and masked the rest. I have a few Ideas and wanted to know if anyone tried anything like this. I want to black out the grille, but I want to get the black chrome look. I know they sell chrome tint, but Im thinking that the VHT night shades will do the same job since its tint as well. Im going to test this and if it looks good I will do the same for my emblems. Ill post and update on how it works out.I was surprised at how the wheels turned out as well. I dont know if I want to do the rest or not... ?????????? or on black wheels for now??? dharker55
Night shades is going to be very blotchy over chrome paint if u get it to stick. Duplicolor makes a black chrome kit called Duplicolor Shadow but it didnt work out all that well wen i tried it. perhaps i did it wrong lol.
S80T6P_T_M
That is what I suspected, but Ill grab the duplicolor black chrome kit if I decide to do it.. Thanks for the input.. Dharker55
boxpin
Has anyone put Plastidip up against Showroom New? I dunno how plastidip is applied, all I remember about it was that you dip tool handles in it to make a rubber grip. Has it changed? I used showroom new on my trim and love it. Same... it just comes in a spray can now too
S80T6P_T_M
Same... it just comes in a spray can now too Yup, what MattyXXL said. If there is a home depot around they sale both types in black. I will add that it has held up excellent on the wheels and the trim with the exception of anything that is rubber such as the thin door seal. It peels right of without affecting the rest of the trim.
