atefitty
Failed emissions badly and my scantool is showing my IAT sensor reading at -40 degrees. I swapped out the sensor that is located in the LF lower air dam..My car has an ARD Green tune and blowoff valve and aftermarket intake.
ARD - Lucky
Check engine light on? If not that's not the reason for emissions failure. BTW pm if you like, I noticed your other thread and I'm happy to help!
831t5r
Your iat sensor is the engine coolant temp sensor
atefitty
Your iat sensor is the engine coolant temp sensor I don't think that's an accurate statement From what I understand IAT measures intake manifold temp. ECT measures coolant temp and on this model sends a signal to the ECM for fuel adjustments and also sends a signal to the temp gauge. My IAT is reading -40 degrees and I'm unsure if this is just a generic reading because of the absence of one or is my sensor really sending this info to my ECM and fooling it into thinking its arctic cold outside and consequently making it rich to compensate. atefitty
I know some models like the S40 have IAT set into the intake tubing but use a ECT also
atefitty
From what I have learned the IAT and MAF are one in the same on my 850R.. I'm getting a reading of -40 degrees on my scantool for the IAT. That would mean a portion of the sensor is not working correctly I'm assuming.
