troyhyde
Wow, thanks for posting this find..I've also got an issue getting my 850 to go into closed loop...I cleared the codes and it started to work and make fuel trim adjustments..If I shut the car off and restart it goes back to not working and fuel trim stays at 0%..I also emailed Lucky on this issue, Thanks again for posting. No doubt, our cars will run markedly better when they can optimize/adjust fuel trims..... not to mention improve fuel economy. The ECU map on my car was running quite rich without the ability to adjust fuel. Purge valve is a big problem for me in Texas as well, at 100+ degrees the sloshing gas tank is a massive fume creator. I was concerned I'd blow the hood off the car everytime I started the engine. Lots of fumes coming out of the engine bay...
JordanW
I'll be curious what Lucky comes up with, or even the seriousness of the problem. I don't have any driveability issues, infact it is still a vast improvement over my old IPD stage I tune. Compared to the IPD tune, I'm getting the same MPG, but better performance. The EVAP purge issue would be nice to sort out, people riding with me think I've got some gas leak or something - it keeps them from smoking at least! ARD - Lucky
Did quite a bit of testing Friday and Saturday, I'll keep the results more brief since not all M44 conversions are affected. Short answer is if you find your ECU is not entering closed loop (i.e. STFT sitting at 0 and not moving) then I have the fix for you! Simple error in the coding but it's an easy enough fix. To keep the thread from getting overly complicated please PM me directly if you are having this issue and I'll get you setup! P.S. Pat on the back to Troy for finding this! ARD - Lucky
Just want to make sure everyone gets taken care of so don't hesitate to PM if you're seeing this issue arise in your M44 conversion from us! Thanks all!
JagsT5R
I have no affiliation with ARD, but I have to say that is some serious customer service! I have been looking at different ECU's for my T-5R, this thread pretty much has made up my mind on ARD.
ARD - Lucky
@VWlover - I think it might, since you're local PM me and we'll do some checking! @Bmac - Which solenoid are we talking about?
JordanW
Sorry, a little thread ignorance, I didn't see that Oreo931 cleaned up the thread and started another... Here's a repost... Recieved ARD's revised tune today. After about 60 miles of driving and five or so restarts, Lucky has it all sorted out. Car goes into closed loop, fuel trims change as they should and EVAP seems to be working as it should. I'm sure it's just in my head, but car seems to run better... Thanks to Lucky for being fast to come up with a fix and great to work with! It says alot when someone encourages discussion of a potential issue with their product, and then fixes it.
