hgray14
Over the past year I have had trouble with the exterior door trim on my two back doors. After sitting in the sun and warming up, if I open the back doors the trim gets caught and instead of sliding inside the front door, it goes the outside, which then bends it badly. Is there a solution to stop this from happening? It bent so badly on both sides that I removed both rear door trim pieces and am now trying to decide what to do. If I can get them bent back properly, how do I keep them from flare out again? Am I better off getting new trim pieces? I assume there are some heavy duty adhesives out there but I would prefer not do that because I want to be able to remove the trim if need be (like to re-dye it black.) Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated - I am tired of driving around with those two pieces missing.
Mesoam
has your car been hit? this only happened to mine after it suffered the death blow... i would suggest taking a heat gun to them and seeing if you can massage it down, if not pickup some used pieces, there have got to be a ton of them out there
hgray14
That sounds like a good plan. I guess I am concerned that if it happened to both of mine (no, no accidents) that it might simply be an age thing and that I would run into similar problems with others. But if this is fairly unique, than replacing them seems like the way to go.
