Yellow95
I recently installed a 901 with underseat amp in my 850. It sounds really goodf but I have a question. I am running Alpine fronts, stock rear door speakers and alpinne 5x7's in the back. OK stupid question time- Would I benefit at all by disconnecting the rear door speakers and just running the fronts and rear deck speakers? Would the rears gain any sound quality or volume from the amp not having to drive the rear door speakers? Gar
Getspooled
You may want to just try I with the OEM rear door speakers disconnected. I'm assuming they are running in parallel with the rear deck speakers in which case it's more work for the amp. Generally, higher quality speakers like the Alpines have lower efficiency so they actually need more power to get the same volume. Try it and see how it sounds. If you lose a significant amount of bass, then you may want to keep them on but 16 year old speakers can't sound as good as new Alpines! Good luck!
