850 T-5 Vs. Sprayed? Scion Tc

Very true, I did just get my windows tinted too that may have played a role. But ive run faster cars, a new v6 accord coupe with mods and have put bus lengths on them while I still had my old turbo, I guess I was expecting a much larger gap.

stuff unless it was an slush box, the new accord V6 coupe with the 6 speed can trip 13s stock, so unless said mods made the car slower, no. Once again I will completely believe if you say it was an auto. ;)

Why is it if a car someone is racing keeps up or beats them, etc. it must have a turbo, or he must be spraying, etc. ??? Could it be that it just has better gearing for the highway, especially from 45-70mph etc. ???I mean a punch from that speed depending for any auto might take a few seconds for the tranny to kickdown, whereas he might have a manual and was already in a better gear. You guys always make me laugh LOL he must be spraying LOL !!!! He could be stock.

Well the fact that all the stock tc's on dragtimes.com ran an average of 86.89 trap (not including the "stock" one who ran 98 trap) and I just had a 1/4 mile speed of 100.07, id think there would be a difference on a 40-70ish run of a 86.89 trap vs. 100.07 mph.

Oh yeah JDLUNA: the whole point of this post was to get some opinions, hence the ? mark in the title.

Gearing plays a big thing, have you ever looked at some of the times on some of the cars 50-70mph times they may be kind of slow yet they have very high horsepower and have quick 1/2 mile times. If I can find some examples I will try and post them, I just do not have time rright now at work.

I would have to say that 40-70 is one of if not the worst "kickdown" points for our car while under 100 MPH it's just pig slow while pulling timing at 40 MPH because of our boost spikes.

Ben, personally I feel that it was just an optical illusion. I remember running an A4 with injectors, chip, all that jazz... and I thought he kept right up with me but when we got back to the shop he said I put about 4-5 car lengths on him (judging by the rearview mirror for my diagnosis) so who knows... just remember in our cars you can never lose

you win a race:

"dam that's a volvo that thing's fast"

you lose a race:

"oh yea it lost, but still man for a volvo it did alright"

:D

1. The TRD Supercharger is not out yet.

2. The tC is not the 'Box' as mentioned somewhere in this post. That's the xB. As far as Boxy styling goes, though, you guys would know more about that than I would.

3. The tC is geared low, our first shift point is at about 5 mph. I'm sure this had something to do with it.

Oh, diss!

Er, shift at 5 mph? This is at redline?

Did I say "the tC Redlines at 5mph"? Correct me if I'm wrong, I don't believe I did. That would be the 'granny' shift. Obviously, a normal driving shift would be around 3,000rpms on most cars--15mph on the tC, for your future referrence--and you can, of course, shift as high as you like until you reach redline.
