NitroX5
Well, just for your information, I think this would be useful too, at least for the European guys... Calipers: ~2008 Alfa Brera. Brembo mono-block with four (34 or 40mm don't remember :S ) pistons. (part nb later) Bracket: unique machined this time, might be the same as for the Porsche brembo caliper, don't know 100%. Rotors: 336x32 XC90 (Brera uses 330x30 disc) Pads: does not matter: Porsche, S60R, Subaru, Alfa...equal, only slightly pad thickness and material is different. Longer brake hose needed! Result: awesome!!, you can't fade it by any situation. After several high speed to dead stop run, they still bite and working strong. At 120km/h you can block the tires. The base feel didn't change, you have to push the pedal quite a bit -compared to the "new" cars servo systems- this was my problem with S70 even with stock brakes (fresh everything), I had to push really for stopping power even at low speeds. Now, these Brembo's getting sensitive under high speeds, they really could bite...but nicely manageable all the time. No 0 to 1 digital effect. Used calipers: ~270$ (pads induced) Rotors: 136$ Brackets: 181$ ---> this was high, but I haven't got better offer... Fresh paint 336 vs 305 Yup, really rusty Koni yellows... I need to cut half the bolt heads a little to fit Pegs. No other clearance issue found, several mm in every directions. Here with the old 235/45 tire. With new tire, rubbing is gone.. lookforjoe
Nice work! Blue looks great. No pics of the pad retainers? The calipers "look" identical to the Porche Brembos.

Zappo
Actually, they look more like the 996 monoblocks.
Mesoam
I would have totally left the Alfa decals, nice upgrade. The rotors fit the hub no problem? The brackets look great also, nice amount of meat on them
theForgottenone
Great job..i love brembo brakes :)
NitroX5
uhh I gave the wrong size... Correction: XC90 has 336x30mm Brera has 28mm thickness Fitting was no problem, just the bolt holes bigger: 14mm compared to stock 12mm.
laird
Well done. Have yourself a Torte!

850wagonT5
Base feel doesn't change because none of us change the brake booster. A larger booster would give us a stronger, more sensitive brake feel. On a lot of cars you can just swap a bigger brake booster from another model or newer year. I've looked around at part numbers for some other volvos and I can't find out much without seeing them. But I would do this before I would do bigger brakes, as I don't race on a track or anything so I don't have much by way of fade issues. I just wish the brake pedal were more sensitive...it requires too much effort to get them to bite hard.
'93 Dave
wish the brake pedal were more sensitive...it requires too much effort to get them to bite hard. phew. i thought it was just because our cars were heavy. even after all new stuff its annoying to press so hard to get them to work
lookforjoe
Actually, they look more like the 996 monoblocks. Now I see why he had to shave the bolts - they're not offset & recessed like mine
850wagonT5
phew. i thought it was just because our cars were heavy. even after all new stuff its annoying to press so hard to get them to work My car weighs 500 lbs less than stock, and braking is STILL sub-par, despite new Hawk pads. SS lines go in soon, but I've never felt much from them alone. Maybe they'll help a little.
