mundtquist
Hi, I have a 2000 S80 T-6 that is running rough and not developing full power. It has 200,000 miles on it and it is new to me. I bought CHEAP it from a friend of a friend who was going to donate it. Symptoms: -Runs like it is missing on one cylinder -codes for misfire on cylinder #5 and all 4 02 heaters -smooths out when I unplug the MAF I have put in new plugs and a new coil on #5 without success. I have swapped in a MAF from a good running S80 T-6 without success. My thought is that it is a bad MAF and that the bad MAF is causing the misfire and 02 codes. However, I am not sure and I hate to spend $200 unnescessarily. Your thoughts? burnout8488
ETM. Go to a junkyard and get a throttle body with a yellow label. Don't replace anything until you know there is a known good MAF and ETM on the car. Otherwise it will nickel and dime you to death. This car is going to put you through your paces, be ready! atefitty
If the throttle unit is bad you will have a code in the ecu for that.
mundtquist
Hi, The ETM is yellow stickered. I will swap coil packs to make sure it is not a bad replacement. I will then probable try a new maf. Thanks, Steve
burnout8488
A yellow ETM can still have 120,000mi on it depending on when it was originally replaced. They can fail as early as 50,000mi, so yours has the potential for being very old. Don't rule it out. They don't need to set a code in order to be the culprit. MAF is a good next step however.
