fischmama
I collected information from 3 chinese companies offering our rods. They all use the same material (obviously slight variations will be there). I got the blue prints too, they are all the same.
volvoskiah
Great write up Lucky! Glad to see my rods looked pretty good, even though the block will need a little shaving for clearance.
Egger
a friend drive max speeding rods in a built 650awhp car with no problems at all! (nissan skyline with rb30 block) so iam confident they are good!
850wagonT5
...I don't think anyone on VS is near the limit of these rods...I could be wrong, but I only know of one member/poster north of 400 wheel...haha.
andyb5
This makes me wonder if it would be of greater value to just take stock rods and get them shot peened and cryo treated. On most motors I'd just go aftermarket but with our still limited aftermarket support ... Going from the experience of Rsterns 98 T5, I'd say no. He built the motor, and had a set of stock rods shot peened and cryo treated, but still bent a rod after a detonation at 18psi (on an IPD stage 3 tune) from an 18T with full bolt-on supporting mods. He then rebuilt the motor with forged rods and hasn't had any issues since.

Captain Bondo
The block will become a weakpoint before china rods do. I made 540whp on my T6 with china rods, and I also made 470whp on STOCK rods. I put about 5000miles on it an 470whp and the rods were perfect when I removed them. Never any issues. The only thing I ever broke was a ring land due to a tuning issue. Never had a problem with rods stock or otherwise. Run a standalone and put lots of effort into the tune and understand how to manage the thermal aspects of these motors and you can make lots of power without much effort. David Schroeder
I would be glad to go in $15 to test the rods, Dave
850wagonT5
...so, we already know the rods have been able to handle north of 600bhp... ...and no one (save for maybe one person) is anywhere near that number, nor is it likely we will see more than 1-2 people in the next year or two in that ballpark... ...so why are we going to spend money to test rods that we already know can handle way more than we will ever make? Not being a downer, I just don't see the point. If someone should happen to find the limit of these rods in the next couple of years, they will have spent many thousand dollars building their engine to get to that point, and can afford to "find out the hard way". Not that anyone will.
don kalmar union
This is the rod I have been buying for 10 years now directly from a company in China. I believe that most of the higher modified cars here in the UK run these ....so far no problems. I also use them in my S60 T5 long distance car. Regards, Don. DARKSIDE
I'm down $15 for the further testing...I love this stuff... Almost finished a head job and a bunch of bolt on's...shortly after I'll be breaking down my original 2.4(currently on an engine stand) and doing a full rebuild with my biz in mind...so this stuff could come in handy... Though my typical form of testing is doing a build with great parts/tune and driving the HELL out of it... :D
CBoosT5
Interested in this also, would gladly give money to research as im starting my build as we speak.
