Rsterns
Going from the experience of Rsterns 98 T5, I'd say no. He built the motor, and had a set of stock rods shot peened and cryo treated, but still bent a rod after a detonation at 18psi (on an IPD stage 3 tune) from an 18T with full bolt-on supporting mods. He then rebuilt the motor with forged rods and hasn't had any issues since. Your statement is true, replaced the rods with LGS, but I still cryo treated them as well as the pins and pistons and rings. Close to 100K on this build without issues and I by no means baby this car. I use what it has daily.

Rsterns
Curious, by chance have you been able to perform a Rockwell Hardness test on the three sets of Rods? should lend insights to the forging process. Also as a data point, I had my LGs Rods weighed, and they were also with in 1 gram of each other across the set of 5.

Stork
I wasn't actice here so far just folowed the interesting posts which are very useful. Have now all my components together witout the rods which I like to have for confidence. Now I ordered fom Alamo a set connectinhg rods and got the 5 pieces. 3 of them where marked with a 800 number and the other 2 with a 400 number code. I put them an a scale and found a weight difference of 10 gram between the two series. Has anyone made the same experience? The difference is there for sure.
