Tech
You can also use Anit-seize when pressing the dog bones into the power flex bushings. I have been using that for 4 years now when doing urethane bushings on P2 cars.
Keaton85
That is what I was going to use but I called the company and they stated that was not a good idea.
Tech
That is weird but I guess to make sure for warranty issues use what they are sending.
Keaton85
Update: Yup, ended up using anti-seize since the packet they sent is hardly enough to do one let alone enough to lube it up for insertion! The XC bushings are a must though, they are a much better bushing as they don't get stressed as much when the control arm is extended all the way down like the FWD version does. As for the powerflex bushings, these are a must have. It makes the whole front suspension completely solid like the 850/X70s. A tip for installing, due to the new bushings, you can't get the control arm down enough to insert the ball joint threads. So if you remove the ball joint from the hub with the two bolts then insert the ball joint into the control arm first and into the hub second it works a lot better. Ive never had this issue other then with the XC and powerflex bushings combined...
Member
I'm looking to replace FCABs in my '03 V70. Since I'm going Eibach/Koni Yellow I want stiffer FCABs. The one worry with Powerflex is how easy to press on existing control arms? We'd have a hard time at the shop doing rubber bushings but maybe Powerflex is easier? Keaton85
FCAB? Front Control Arm Bushings? haha seriously! The front (horizontal) bushings are really easy to install (powerflex). You just have to make sure that you leave the original metal sleeve in place or you will have to buy another set just for the metal sleeve. The rear (vertical) bushings are the same press in bushings, but I used XC bushings instead of the FWD. The XC bushing is a lot better! I can't believe the original is still even used.
