harleyhv
Project completed during my vacations in August I was not entirely satisfied with Eurosport Tuning short air ram bought on ebay a couple of years back http://www.eurosport....Code=VL-S60-en Took my inspiration from Dougy: Parts used: * XJ6 Air Canister - found on ebay * AEM Dryflow air filter - 21-203D http://www.aemintake....x?Prod=21-203D * CAI flexible 3" pipe - found on ebay http://www.ebay.ca/i....item564a7163c1 * some clamps Some pics: Final result: Taken apart: The AEM filter with its neck was too long for the canister ... It would probably be different with Apexi filter (without collar) as the original projects by Dougy. So I built a "spacer" to make sure the collar of the filter was as much out of the canister as possible: Replacing / cleaning the filter will require a bit more work to remove the spacer but basically, I'm pretty satisfied with the results. boxpin
I am in the process of doing this. Picked up my jag canister awhile ago. I decided to purchase the K&N filter replacement for the OEM. My advice...dont buy the K&N replacement. It was a waste of money. The cone is way to close to the outer part of the canister. Probably ok for OEM but not ok for good flow.
goldponcho
I was going to try something like this, but passed my canister on to a local buddy. Search for '78-'86 Jags, if I remember correctly.
Smiles855R
Thanks for the canister I'll put it to good use. On Dougy's 850 did he use the same apexi filter (500-A021) as his s60, but with the flange and just modified it for the air mass to fit?
harleyhv
Looks good. What year XJ6? First car I ever drove actually. '78 to '86 indeed. I got mine last year on ebay and it sat in my garage until I decided to do something with it... painted it and put one some CF stick-on material. Here is one on ebay. http://www.ebay.com/...ssories&vxp=mtr you got to wait for a good deal.... Boxpin => There was no room with the AEM filter too when I first tried it. That's why I built a "spacer" from parts found a my local hardware store (as shown in the 3rd pic). Here is the space available after the "spacer": Without the spacer, the filter was basically blocking the opening.

The AEM filter with its neck was too long for the canister ... on the first pic ... I got rid of the neck. :)
