EVL WAGN
Whats up y'all...got an issue with the new 601 R. We've been getting some rain the past day or 2 and the rear wiper hasn't been turning on so during a dry break tonight I dug into it...what I've found is very puzzling to me. Need some direction here. I changed the motor with the motor from EVL(which I know works) and still nothing. Exchanged the stalk on the steering column as well and still nothing. Measured the voltage at the connector on the motor from the car side and it is not getting any voltage from the constant power, but does show voltage when the wiper is in intermittant mode. There is also no power at the fuse (#33) under the hood either. With the car powered up when you switch the rear wiper to intermittant mode you can hear what sounds like a relay under the dash, but no sound is present when switching to constant wipe. Is there a relay under the dash for the wiper in constant mode? Any ideas to try next???
831t5r
Sure there isnt no broken wires in tailgate harness? Believe theres only 3 wires going to rear wiper motor. Check continuity from wiper motor connector to connector in left side c pillar. 2 yrs of owning my r my rear defrost and wiper didnt work. I finally took the time to find 4 broken wires and fix em
EVL WAGN
Gonna have to try that out as soon as Michigan stops thinking its England and it quits raining. Also gonna check the wiper relay under the dash as well. I'm really thinking thats the culprit as I have no voltage at the fuse under the hood too. I can hear the relay for the intermittant wiper when I turn it on, but no relay click when going to constant wiper. if that doesn't solve it then I'm digging into the harness for sure. JRL
Most of the time it's break in the wiring harness up in the left rear above the tailgate
EVL WAGN
It was indeed a break in the wire above the rear dr side speaker. It was broken right where the harness is zip tied with the body clip.
