Kit Vexed
Sorry to bring back an old thread, but I though I'd just square it off by saying I now have the ARD billet 18T istalled and running in the car I got an old 15G to rebuild on the bench and built it up to include the ARD billet 18T wheel, ARD wastegate actuator, IPD HD CBV, step gap piston ring, and upgraded thrust components. I then got the entire assembly VSR balanced prior to fitment. Early days yet, but it certainly holds a pound or two more boost and is way quieter than the original turbo. Thanks to Lucky for his continued help & support, I hope to get the car on the dyno soon just for a look see at what's going on. Some pics: nah man im GLAD you brought it back.. ppl need to hear about these.. - THANK YOU -
Smiles855R
Is that a 16t compressor housing in the pic? Did you that with the 18t wheel, and a rebuilt 15g or what? Am I missing here
Yosser
No, it's an 18T housing. I used the core from a 15g so that I could build it on the bench and just swap housings to save on downtime.
gmsgltr
And you noticed a nice difference in performance?
Yosser
And you noticed a nice difference in performance? I haven't done that many miles since the swap, but it certainly feels pretty good so far. The tune has a boost target of 18 psi and I can reach and hold that where I couldn't before. I also fitted a new wg actuator from ARD at the same time so that'll be helping too. I guess it may take a few more miles for the ecu to adapt fully to the changes, so I need to get out there and drive the thing I also really need to make sure it's 100% before my Nurburgring trip next month......
