So I was driving last night back home and the two lights that let you see the mileage just shut off, I try to play with the "read" button to see if any reaction then the WHOLE cluster shut OFF = no speedo, no RPM, no lights on the cluster at all !!! Any one have any idea about this kind of problem? is new to me but I guess not to the Forum. Thanks ( car is 2002 S60 AWD 2.4 LPT)

Agreed, cluster is probably shot. If you have access to VIDA see if it's still online in the network tab.

To ensure this isn't a power supply issue check for 12V at the Violet/White wire (pin #1) and ground on the Brown wire (Pin # 14)

Check out these guys www.xemodex.com they can rebuild the cluster for you. No you cannot swap one in from a junkyard.

Your cluster is probable failing. I also have an 02, and the little message window almost never works, My odometer, clock, temp are blank a lot, and the whole cluster turns off and on a lot. You can have the cluster rebuilt.

I will search about this thing,Thanks.

Vida is on the way to my home, i will try to connect the two wires to see were lies the problem, Xemodex it's a lot of $$,Thanks.

I beleive there is a wiring harness update at or around the ECU that can cause this. I'm not 100% sure but I remember my old boss having this issue and it was due to a connection someplace else that had an update part to replace....

Steve(Ghost Shadow) told me about the wiring problem(they overheat after a wile ), if you find out the # part for that harness will be gold, Thanks.

Sorry to bump this after so long, but I have an 04 with some electrical problems... what wiring harness overheating problem? My car has a combination of problems that looks like it could be a CEM DIM or ABS control module. It only happens during hot weather though... if its just a wiring harness that needs to be updated I might actually keep the car.

You need to fix the cluster =DIM (driver info module).Where are you located?

Chattanooga Tennessee. It seems like more than just DIM though. It usually starts with the interior lights coming on and a message pops up that says the left rear door is open. Then the Brake failure message and every other message you can think of pops up and the who dash freezes up where you can't cycle messages. Then the AC goes out and I lose all gauges including odometer. The windows and door locks stop working sometime around then too and the car starts sluggishly and I never feel it shift. Then it will start lurching randomly if I'm really unlucky... only happens in hot weather though. Like 85+F
