1999 Volvo S70 Coolant Leak

Hey guys,

A couple of weeks ago, the low coolant light came on on my dash, so I topped the reservoir with coolant. A week or two later, it came on again. Was a little suspicious but went ahead and topped it off again. I've been keeping a keen eye on the coolant tank ever since, and was pretty positive the coolant was leaking. There was no obvious sign of dripping or anything until today. Coolant is dripping pretty rapidly from the radiator area. I'm not in a place nor do I currently have the time to check the car right now. So I don't have much of an idea where its leaking from other than the fact that its near the radiator (passenger side). But I'm assuming it's a bad hose? I'm starting to get into cars, maintaining, and taking on most work on my car by myself. I don't know where to start though. How can I diagnose and check where the leak is coming from?

The car never overheated, but noticed that my engine oil was low so I topped it off with 2 quarts just now. I had the oil changed about 1500-2000 miles ago so it shouldn't be leaking/burning oil that fast... right?

Let me know if you guys need any more info about my car or the issue. Any help or tips is appreciated! :)

That's a lot of oil to go through .. get a flashlight and do a visual inspection under there.. also put some cardboard under the engine to see where oil is dripping (and coolant for that matter) .. on the side of the rad youre looking at theres really just the radiator inlet hose that comes from the thermostat .. so it could be seeping from that hose under pressure or worst case from a crack in the rad ... either way these leaks tend to get worse in short time so I would try and pinpoint it fairly quickly ..

If you HAD the oil changed, there's no guarantee it was refilled with the proper amount.

The only way to gauge consumption is to go from your new baseline, now that you've filled it.
