boxpin
I have a question about the ARD TCV. I thought other might benefit from the answer so I am posting here. 1. Does it matter what angle/direction its mounted? 2. Is it waterproof or do I need to seal around the solenoid? 3. Is it susceptible to heat, can it be mounted near the turbo? I know it was determined that it performs best the closer it is to the turbo. I was thinking of mounting mine to the firewall bracket but that will be based on the answers. Tightmopedman9
Off topic, but where did you get your 90° aluminum pipe with a HKS adapter?
ARD - Lucky
Waterproof, yes. Just don't keep it under water Heat resistant, yes. But for longevity keep it 6 inches away from the hot side of the turbo. Orientation as you like, no worries there! Let me know if you have any other questions! -Lucky
White 850R
Mounted mine to the wiring harness that's right next to the driver side shock tower, mine is a aem bc but same solenoid. I put some soft material between it and the hard plastic and just tied with a couple zip ties.
Keep Calm Chive On
mine is mounted just as shown except vertical. I have it so the line to the wastegate & compressor are a straight shot & short as possible and the recurc line I could give a funk about but that too is short. You could get some heat wrap like foil shit and make a nice pocket for it within the truss of the upper engine mount if you feel it's needed. Regardless I tend to clean mine often due to blow by & heat.

Auburn T5
I used automotive trim double sided tape (used to hold body trim/spoilers, etc onto cars) to attach mine to the fuse box.
Kit Vexed
orientation is quite obvious, however is the distance? i know there was a thread about it being closer, but before ARD came out with this device, i remember seeing a pic from iPd with it mounted by the battery/air intake? and this was never an issue with the 1st gen, so why is distance a factor with this new one? ARD - Lucky
It's not really a factor for either, but the car responds better the shorter the distance just by virtue of less hose volume to fill :)
