What happened to me is that they overheat & shut down, then when cooled off, will function normally. So, if swapped out, they will probably test fine unless they run them for more than just a short time. Ken explained they have a (milliseconds) delay internally to build the higher intensity spark, but ME7 is able to compensate for that. Not sure what caused the problem for me, since mine is a ME4.4 hybrid. Ipd gave me the same offer. I never noticed a change in the performance of the Ipd coils versus the Bosch coils, so I am not really attached to either product. I think I'm going to keep my old Bosch coils and use my credit to some new sway bars when they go on sale again. Too bad AWD ones are so expensive. Interesting to hear about the delay. revird_ovlov Posted January 17, 2013 Report Share Posted January 17, 2013 FYI, you cannot use single ply silicone hoses on vaccum lines, when they get hot they become more plyable and the vaccum causes the lines to collapse and resrict flow to your valves, ones the system is fed with pressure again the line opens up and normal operation occurs. buy a roll of HI-Pressure fuel injector hose (they sell it in navy blue at auto supply stores).
