mojojo
As some of you may have read my later topics, you may know I recently acquired a 1996 850, Platinum Edition, in very good condition. It seems the best thing to do would be to create one thread that I can update as things progress with this car. I've already completed quite a few mods, and brought the car up to service standards, with a timing belt/water pump job in the near future. I've got a few things in the works now, but I am using this car as a daily driver - when I can't ride my motorcycle (it's getting cold here), so that limits my in-the-air time. Pics: Shortly after acquiring the car, I've already put on a set of winter wheels/S70 covers. Sorry, got ahead of my self here, will continue with story and pics. Please do not reply - YET. mojojo
I drove the car like this for a few weeks, as I pulled parts from my other car before selling it. The list of mods at this time was: Sconeman/snabb intake w/ K&N panel IPD/TME strut bar IPD/TME 2.5" cat back IPD HD end links (second new set) Some services/repairs include: Replaced all coolant hoses " Thermostat Fuel Filter Spark Plugs (Bosch FR7-- for a try) Repaired Fog Light operation AmsOil 10/30 engine AmsOil ATF Volvo LCAs Volvo oil cooler lines Volvo PCV Volvo outer tie rods secured loose rear bump stops ...surely more, owning these cars, the repairs/mods seem to just blend in to the next... List of things being done now: Replace seized antennae mast recondition 17" Titans install R bumper Once winter has passed and all the snow is gone, the bumper/wheels will be fitted and ride height adjusted. As things come around, I'll update with pictures. Intake/strut bar/ various engine compartment changes: When I began with the Titans they were spray painted on the car, gloss black, along with everything behind the wheels, by the previous owner... they were in rough shape, but straight. Process in repainting the Titans. I ended up leaving the tires on the wheels for a number of reasons. First, I wasn't convinced this would be the way I wanted to go, and didn't want to spend much money/time on these if I was going to do something different. They turned out better than expected (certainly better than they were), so I'll run them for now... First coat of wheel paint Second coat After sanding (600), and one coat of clear, they're done - for now. They do look better in person. After all the sanding, it was somewhat hard for me to keep a steady hand while taking pictures... I will break the bead and sneak some new valve stems in before they're mounted/balance. I haven't got any pics yet of the bumper, I'm just starting on it - it will need to be repaired where they always break (anyone have solid suggestions?), and repainted (I received the paint last week, it's sitting in a box just inside the house). As the car is now, ready for winter and some new parts: I'll update as time passes, thanks for your patience.

mojojo
I've replaced the antennae mast and prepped the R bumper for paint, there's no rush to get it fitted with MN winter hitting the bricks any day now. I've started gathering the parts needed for the 302 swap, I've priced everything out new/reman at ~$250 through local stores... so not so bad. I'm pricing tire options since I'll have to ditch the 15" steelies for the 16" stockers and/or the Titans I've painted to clear the new brakes... All this with Christmas around the corner means, my car is lucky to get much attention when the wife wants this and that (this year it's a Tablet - done, and new purse... I'm still trying this one on, any way I play it seems like disaster), and a little one to buy for, luckily she's only 2 and she'll be happy with ~$100 worth of crap at Target/Wal-Mart, and she can mix it in with all her other crap. ...so yeah, I'm kind of bitter about buying a spoiled two year old more toys for Christmas... and lately she's turned in to a real pain in my, but she does have kisses made of gold. so, limited progress on the car around the holidays, hopefully things pick up when momma realizes daddy worked so hard and santa 'overlooked' his car parts list. mojojo
I think they will look nice... as good as I can do for now. Like I said, they need new rubber on two at least so not worried about the overspray on the rubber, but I can clean it off.
