JVC
After whoring pictures of my car in many different threads, I realized I should really have just one build thread. I spent the last 45 minutes cutting pictures and stuff from my StanceWorks Build thread as seen here. Figured this would be a cool way to consolidate a timeline of my car and show people what it looked like and what it has come to now. http://www.stanceworks.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17487 Of course with the copying and such, some things say soon, today etc. didn't go back and change everything. Here are some pics right after I picked it up with 112k miles on it. with my friends E36 Picked up some 16" V70R wheels for $80 with tires and spraybombed em Gold and rocked that look for a while. Winter came along and I had some fun with the car. Threw the stock 17's from my old S80 on it with some newer tires. Also picked up a roof rack, tossed a basket I had on and wired up some Rally lights. Smacked a curb and bent the control arm mounting location on the subframe. traded the gold wheels for a new subframe that I picked up from a Mike in Minneapolis and was back on the road. Coilovers arrived! And they threw in some adjustable endlinks I didn't expect! I got the fronts on... unfortunately; the tires I ad bought were 215/50 so I couldn’t lower it as much as easily. Also you can see the spray painted rear bumper since it was super scuffed up. Heres some pics from Carlisle in 2011. Oh yeah, and about 20 miles from home on the 660 mile roadtrip home this happened... skidplate jarred itself loose with the older rusty hardware and was being held on by one bolt and I was forced to make a quick exit in downtown chicago to jack it up real quick and take the skidplate off. Victory Shot! I got a decent rear bumper that matches the rest of the car and isn't spray paint, as well as making the 960 Lip work on the X70 bumper. Here are some pictures for your viewing enjoyment. Yes I know... I cheated, gotta rock that fake low when you're not actually low. Here's some fresh pics from our first Volvo’s @ Ikea meet in Chicago. I tried something a little bit different with the headlights, and I kept it like that for a while. And I broke my lip on the way to the meet so I had some e-tape holding it together. Alright guys, sorry I haven't updated this. I really haven't done anything buy drive the car. Here are some recent pictures and a few changes. Built this for my trunk which took me a while but was a good project (ignore the dirty as fuck trunk mat) drove it in a bad snow storm with summer tires on then our weather went bi-polar and it got stupid nice out so I detailed it one week. made a front plate bracket since I got a ticket while parked at school and didn't want to have to worry about it anymore then I did this photoshop Determined I want white wheels, then a friend offered me these... $100 I couldn't turn down the offer. 17x8 ET35 Mille Miglia Action They're ugly... so I did another photoshop to see what they would look like without fake bolt holes and got this. Much better!!! So I photoshopped them white on the car and fake low photoshopped the car. Then I test fit them late one night at a friends house. It looks like 25-30 MM out back and 5-10 up front will be a lot better with a 205/45 tire. I then spent some time trying to find something I could buy at work (West Marine) to fill in those bolt holes. Then I found this stuff which looked promising. Got it home and found out it's basically JB Weld in a can... and at $55 it was a little steep for my blood, but after my discount it was only $25... so I took a chance. We're currently remodeling our family room and my parents are out of the house all week... this means they left me my own indoor body shop! I sanded out some of the rash and prepared the wheels to get the bolt holes filled. Glopped on a first coat of this stuff, my plan is to let this dry, sand it down a bit then throw on one more layer to this wheel with the stuff overflowing the hole so when I sand it down it will be flush with the wheel and after paint you hopefully wont be able to notice there were ever bolt holes there! Put it in a ditch… Old and New Put the white wheels back on the car after SoWo, Tried to crank the fronts down but they appeared to be seized, so for now this is how it sits. Car is far from perfect and to be honest, these wheels will probably go to winter duty this winter and get totally ruined, but they were a cheap experiment anyways. Makes the wheels look not dirty! picked up some new wheels in Madison, WI. 17x8 ET20 square. 215/45 something michelins... Cleaned them up real quick! Front still jacked up with 15mm spacers effective offset of 5 Took the spacers off And the rears without the 20mm spacers, might put the 15mm from the front on the back. And a few full car shots Went back down to one of my favorite spots to take pictures due to the ability to use the lighting in the lot to my advantage. S70 by JVC8790, on Flickr S70 by JVC8790, on Flickr Someone admiring my car on Stanceworks took pics of it at another FNL meet this past summer Got the 205/45 512's put on as many had requested. Still running just the 15mm in the back but it definitely needs the 20mm out back to sit even front to back and to fit the fenders a bit better in the rear, maybe I'll get some extended bolts for the 8mm spacers I have for the front too. JVC
Hooray! Now you can just whore your pics in your own thread. LOLOL Duhhh! I'm aware I'm missing a centercap. One got broken a while back and I HAD 3 spares and cleaned my garage and now can't find them. Bumper grilles don't fit on the passenger side since my tow hook got tweaked from putting it in a ditch, gotta spend some time to make that fit. I also lost the center grille piece so I was considering a FMIC just to help fill that space.
