Devils advocate says : Knives and Cars serve a strong social purpose beyond ending life. People like Mike think there's very little benefit to keeping guns around. They don't get you to work, they don't cut your steak, they don't open boxes in a plant.

Putin has found a use for guns.

Would this be Mike's military? Or is that to gun like?

"Wiser, an EMT trainee who hopes to become both a police officer and a soldier, spent 13 days in the Ashtabula County Jail following the incident."

WTF?! That makes no one feel more safe.

I graduated in 03' and people still wore pocket knives. Hell kids who hunted had guns in their trucks. I will never understand how "everyone" become so scared.

https://www.youtube.com/user/ArmyRescue2 His youtube is listed in the article

This article has different information than the FoxNews article. They neglect to mention the stun gun. Personally it doesn't matter, but it is odd they left it out.

Inside Wiser's vehicle, officials found an assortment of items, including the folding blade pocketknife, a stun gun and two Airsoft guns.

(...)

Wiser was ultimately arrested and jailed for illegal conveyance of a weapon onto a school ground, a Class 5 felony.

(...)

Specht said the charge is related only to the knife found inside Wiser's vehicle. The teen is not facing charges for possession of the stun gun or the Airsoft guns.

(...)

"I was in jail for almost 13 days," Wiser said. "The first bond hearing I went to was on December 15. The judge ordered me [to be] held on a half million-dollar bond, pending a psychological evaluation. I did that and passed. They found I was not suicidal, homicidal or a threat to anybody. My attorney brought it up in front of a different judge, who let me out on a $50,000 bond and an ankle monitor. I was released from jail on Christmas Eve."

Wiser acknowledges he should not have had any of the items on school property and said he is willing to accept punishment for that; however, he does not feel a felony charge is fitting, considering the circumstances.

So... having a pocket knife left in the car is a felony. I'd like to know what was posted on the internet that constituted grounds for a search. Is the general theme of the videos he uploaded? Or was it a specific threatening comment?

It must be Spring in Chicago. Want to know the temperature? Start counting the weekend shootings.

This says something about what kind of idiots we're dealing with...

A 23-year-old man was shot in the arm about 1:05 a.m. in the 700 block of North Green Street in the River West neighborhood on the Near West Side, News Affairs Officer Janel Sedevic said. Someone drove the man to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was treated and released.

After leaving the hospital, the 24-year-old driver returned to the area where the shooting happened. About 1:30 a.m., the driver was himself shot in the elbow in the 900 block of West Chicago Avenue in the Goose Island neighborhood, police said. The driver then apparently drove himself back to Northwestern, where he was treated and released, police said.

So are you saying that accurate sights/scopes are the problem here or?

They're good. I figure the weather has a lot to do with the lower numbers this year. People are in doors more. The good thing with the scopes and sights are less bystanders are hit do to the added accuracy.
