850T5M
Hey guys, I've had my 94 850T5 for about 3 years now, and had the clutch changed almost as soon as I got it (failed throw out bearing). For 3 years I've been wondering why my pedal is so soft compared to other manual cars. Last week I drove my friends 2000 v70 (N/A), and his clutch feels MUCH different from mine. Its a lot harder to push it in, and it pushes your foot up as you release the pedal, whereas mine is pretty soft the entire way up/down. I'm running the stock 850 turbo saches clutch (unfortunetly). Are the clutch systems on the 94-97 850's the same as the 99/00 x70? How would I know if I had some air in my line? Thanks!
JRL
His is older and more worn When they're new, they're softer and easier to push Why are you complaining?
Keaton85
I WISH mine was soft... my leg will go num in traffic! My 01 with dual mass is perfect, but the 98 single mass is rock solid. If you are worried then just re-bleed the system. ohhh, forgot to say the 98 clutch is shot! still holds really strong but the throw out bearing makes noise and the springs flop all over the place haha. Just waiting for it to die on me but it's stayed the same for 2yrs 30k miles.
850T5M
Its not that its just softer, Im having problems with my gears sticking as I shift gear...and trying to figure out if it needs to be bled, or am I going crazy lol... His car seems to shift very smoothly, and the clutch just has a good feel to it (like my friends Mazdaspeed3, cobalt ss, mazda rx8). It feels as tho the clutch pushes up hard on your foot once you've reached about 1/3 of the way up...mine just sucks the entire way up and down lol... The clutch is 3 years old, it should have hardened by now, it wont get any harder... I sometimes have trouble getting into first gear, although I've read a lot of people have the same problem, his car goes in like butter...both our cars have around the same mileage as well... 850T5M
Alright, any fail proof ways of bleeding it? I read about the oil-can method, using a oil pump can to pump oil up the line, instead of down...is that my best bet?
