Really? Im not sure how asking questions is acting like an ALL GLORY TO THE HYPNOTOAD. I was actually interested and on mobile i cant see if someones a vendor so i asked if thats what youre talking about if its me asking about prices i was wondering because i wanted to compare to see if it was affordable compared to the cost of getting one rewrapped by a local guy. Sorry if there was some kind of misconception on your part. Next time ill do myself a favor and PM whoever so there is no chance you can misunderstand what or why im asking. Badvlvo im still interested in more info so if you get a chance shoot me a PM with some sort of ballpark figure for a unit even if it would be for a one off.

I have no problem answering all sorts of questions about alternators, charging systems, or high output amplifiers. That's part of my daily life due to my present work.

Here's the deal with the cost of one of my units vs. a rewound stator unit.

The rewound stator will be a compromise. When you swap to a higher output stator you will lose low speed power, causing your idle output to drop below the OEM output in most circumstances. You will still be using an OEM rectifier, no increase in amperage capacity there, and will still be limited by the OEM rotor. Yes, it's much cheaper. Yes, you can get 200a with a rewound stator. No, it's not going to charge well at idle. Yes, it can introduce more noise to the electronics.

My solution will not be a compromise in any way. Double the idle amperage output of OEM is what I am shooting for here, along with 320a on the top end. All of the components are designed for this type of high amperage output.

The rewound will be much cheaper, but it may serve it's purpose for you.

some guy selling alternators or trying to in one section another trying to sell ugly wheels in a different section. neither have used the for sale section to attempt a sell for either thing though.

Got the PM, thanks!

These are on hold for now. Why? A few reasons, not enough interest, difficult packaging, and not enough free time.

I also no longer have a whiteblock car available for fitting the unit and don't see owning one in my near future. With my current job along with the alternators on the side, a car to completely rebuild and a house to remodel building for this niche market has taken very low priority.
