goldponcho
John, I've got the second grill, so am partial to that one. But compared to the first, it looks plain. I like them both, so not very helpful here.
RobT5M
or do something like this one http://daytona.craigslist.org/pts/3605808628.html I have an ipd gen one mesh one in storage, I like my XC alot more though so its my preferred. Not big on the waterfall grilles. ah youve got an 850, didnt notice the headlight trim. id go with the mesh, but like I said, I dont like the waterfall grills. FINN
Use it if the rest of the car is aggressive...havent seen it in while. I have mine on the 97 for this reason.
Brad850
2nd one by far. I can't figure out a good latch puller for mine though. The metal one Ipd supplied scratched paint off every time I used it. What are you using? Or have you never had it on the car until now?
FINN
You know this isnt the safest option but I have had it since 2004 and I did away with the latch.
Brad850
wow I never thought of that.. anyone else doing this also? I don't know... hood flying up on the highway is probably one of the worst things that can happen
goldponcho
With a little work, the latch release off a x70 will work on an 850. I made it work on mine, just had to bend my own shorter (I think) rod from handle to actuator. Covered it with shrinkwrap tubing to hide the shiny metal, and happy with it. The only thing I would do is move the horns under the bumper so they are out of view.. Not sure, found it on a car at the JY. I havent been able to find a good home for the horns as the FMIC and injection pump have taken it all. Use it if the rest of the car is aggressive...havent seen it in while. I have mine on the 97 for this reason. Who determines that? You know this isnt the safest option but I have had it since 2004 and I did away with the latch. Already lost a hood doing this. Went to top off the radiator at a service station, popped the hood but the water pump was a pay pump. So I decided to drive to the next station...forgot to latch the hood and wham!! With a little work, the latch release off a x70 will work on an 850. I made it work on mine, just had to bend my own shorter (I think) rod from handle to actuator. Covered it with shrinkwrap tubing to hide the shiny metal, and happy with it. I'd like to see this. Thanks for your input
