RZT5
As many of you may already know, RZ Design has been busy developing a drop in turbo kit for all factory turbo 5 cylinder P80 and P2 Volvos. The kit is based around the Mitsubishi TD05H turbo with RZ Design R28 or R32 billet compressor wheels. I have had the prototype kit running in my C70 for a few weeks (build thread here: ), and this coming week we will be installing the first production kit in a 2007 S60R GT. We took delivery of the S60R today, and will be posting updates here over the next week! Here are some preliminary photos:

RZT5
Sorry we've been slacking on uploading all the photos we've taken. The K24 came out as expected, and as of last night the R32 is in the car and partially bolted up. It took a bit of wiggling to get the turbo between the firewall and the engine, but it can be done from the top of the engine bay. I found it easiest to lower the turbo back behind the engine, rotate it 90 degrees to connect the drain tube, then orient the turbo properly and slide the drain tube into the block. Once the turbo was properly situated, I threaded the studs into the manifold through the turbine housing. It was a tight squeeze, but in the end it went together beautifully! Here are some photos, and we'll have more up shortly!
mdlimy
ceramic coated turbine housing?
RZT5
ceramic coated turbine housing? Yes. It's not normally included with the kit, but since this customer will be running at Willow Springs he requested it in an attempt to keep engine bay temps down. dream3r
I'm watching this thread with interest, and am looking forward to seeing the mapping results. Will the mapping be done on a dyno or on the road? I take it the block is stock? I would be worried as we have seen quite a few split with higher power outputs in the UK on the KKK turbo. Yes, the block is stock. It will be tuned on the road, and we do not anticipate having any problems with the stock bottom end I'll let lucky answer this question in more detail since it's more up his alley as the tuner. dream3r
Any update on this kit? I emailed Rye and not nothing back. I wonder if the fittings for the 20G are available?
RZT5
I'm not sure I got your email. What email did you send to? The kit never entered production. I got a fair bit of interest in the weeks following the build, but everyone I talked to had the same complaint: the price point was far too high for them to ever consider purchasing. I couldn't find a way to bring the price down without sacrificing quality, so I essentially put the project on hold indefinitely. I am however happy to offer advice to anyone who wants to piece together a 20G kit on their own, and RZ Design still offers the R32 billet wheels and stainless OTE pipes. Feel free to contact me with any questions you have!
